Aims and Scope

The principal aim of ADES is to serve as a leading international forum for research that informs the transition of agricultural systems toward greater productivity, ecological integrity, and social equity. The journal connects scientific discovery with real-world implications, publishing work that generates actionable knowledge for a broad audience spanning researchers, development agencies, governments, and farming communities.

Core Thematic Areas

■ Crop physiology, agronomy, and yield optimisation under varying environmental conditions

Research Approaches

Systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and scoping reviews

Modelling, simulation, and scenario analysis

ADES does not require novelty in the sense of large-scale or high-budget experiments. A well-designed, rigorously conducted study — however modest in scope — that generates valid, replicable findings and advances understanding of agricultural sustainability is welcome.

2.3 Geographic Focus

While ADES welcomes research from all regions of the world, it places particular emphasis on agricultural systems in Asia, Europe and other regions such as South East Asia, Africa where the challenges of food security, environmental degradation, and climate vulnerability intersect most acutely. Authors from developing and emerging economies are strongly encouraged to submit.
